Throughout my former career, I spent Thirty years successfully discharging my responsibilities in leadership positions, 23 years in government resource management, 22 years in strategic planning, and more than Twenty years related to business planning. My practical experience and success was underpinned by the significant amount of life-long training and education in all these areas up to the post-graduate and executive levels. While my former career may appear quite dissimilar to that regarding my current career in tangible estate, the majority of my education, training and experience directly pertains to this start-up. In the two cases, effectively dealing with people is often a key element. Why then, am I offering this article?

Over many years I’ve realized that the more I learned in everyday life and my profession, the greater there was to master. Similarly, as I traveled around America and abroad, I increasingly realized just how much there was clearly to master about people, cultures and places. Much of this increased awareness and appreciation was gained through interaction with lots of lots of people in the working gain levels to and like the most senior degrees of government and industry. Through these interactions, it became increasingly obvious that there was little agreement on which I had come to know as some pretty basic concepts – leadership, management, strategic and tactical planning, and strategy and tactics.

Many of these elements play a role, but within different contexts. What, then, have I visit know about the concepts given my education, training, and experience?
